SOMATIC SATSANG

Embodied Intimacy Retreat For Women

Discover the fulfillment you're looking for,
inside the life you already have

With Lisa Schumacher & Ajaya Sommers
November 6-8, 2026 · In Person Retreat
Ashland, Oregon

Satsang (noun) — a gathering in truth. Coming together in presence, inquiry, and direct recognition of what is already here, beneath thought and identity.

Somatic (adjective) — of the lived body. Entering the truth of our experience through sensation, breath, movement, heart intelligence and the nervous system—where recognition becomes embodied.

In Satsang, we turn toward the stillness, love, and ever-present truth of awareness that is always available when we stop trying to be someone other than who we naturally are.

And yet, for many of us, a profound spiritual recognition of our innate nature does not automatically mean that our bodies, nervous systems, and relationships know how to live from this deeper source of being.

The body may still brace. Old patterns may still arise. Our emotional body may still take over.

We may still abandon ourselves in relationship, protect what no longer needs protection, or reach outside ourselves for the fulfillment we long to find within.

Somatic Satsang is an invitation to bring these dimensions together.

Over this intimate weekend, Lisa Schumacher will offer Satsang and direct inquiry into the nature of true fulfillment, inviting us to rest in the recognition of what is already here.

Ajaya Sommers will guide somatic practices that bring this recognition into direct relationship with the body, meeting the places where old identity structures, protective patterns, and unfinished experience continue to live in our tissues and nervous system, shaping our unconscious sense of safety.

Rather than trying to fix, overcome, or transcend these patterns, we will learn to meet them with kindness and care. With a quality of tending and attunement that allows true integration to occur.

We will discover a deeper way of listening, feeling, and staying with ourselves, no matter what arises. And we will invite and allow the body's own intelligence to participate in the unfolding of awareness.

This is not about becoming a better version of yourself.

It is about discovering what becomes possible when you no longer have to organize yourself around who you thought you needed to be in order to survive.

Together, We Will Explore:

Satsang as a mirror for direct self-recognition Resting in the presence of what is already true within you, rather than seeking fulfillment somewhere outside ourselves.

The body as an expression of consciousness Learning to listen to sensation, movement, breath, and the nervous system as pathways into deeper self-recognition.

The meeting of awakening and embodiment Exploring the space between what we recognize spiritually and what we are actually able to live.

Old identity structures and protective patterns Discovering how they live in the body and nervous system, and allowing them to unwind with presence.

Intimacy without self-abandonment Learning to remain connected to ourselves while opening more fully to another.

Nourishment as a felt experience Learning to receive, not just give. Letting the body take in beauty, rest, and connection as a form of sustenance rather than something to earn.

The wisdom of the women's field Allowing ourselves to be witnessed, met, gently challenged, supported, and nourished by the presence of other women.

True fulfillment as a lived experience Not an achievement or ideal, but an embodied capacity to meet life from your center.

Reclaim your primary relationship to your Core-Self
while in the supportive company of kindred spirits on the path of Embodied Awakening.

A Weekend of Meeting Yourself

There is something precious that becomes possible when women gather in a
space devoted to truth.
We begin to recognize ourselves in one another.
We laugh. We cry. We become quiet.
We discover what we have been carrying.

And sometimes, we discover what we are finally ready to put down.
In its place, something else arrives.
A quiet nourishment, the kind that comes not from doing more, but from finally being met.
Beneath all of this is a deeper recognition:

Nothing essential in you is missing.
What has been obscured by protection, conditioning, and the demands of life does not need to be forced into healing. It can be met. And with enough presence, what has always been here can begin to reveal itself.

This is the meeting place of Satsang and Somatic Integration.
A place to rest in what is true, intimately, innately, and uniquely as the one that you are.
A place to allow the body, heart, and nervous system to come into relationship with that truth.
A place to discover that fulfillment is not somewhere you have to arrive.

It is already alive within you.

This body of work is greatly informed by Nature's intelligence; from the developmental perspective of the embryo as well as other fractal motifs within undomesticated nature. You can expect to be re-enchanted by the miracle of life as you access your original embodied memories of wholeness.

Who is this Retreat for?

If you are a service professional— a doctor, therapist, nurse, coach, yoga instructor CEO or other roles in which leading with care, attunement and service to others are your true vocation underneath your title; then you know that you are being summoned more than ever to show up and offer your gifts to the larger field, perhaps even on the front lines.

Please note that this retreat is not specifically for “service professionals”. Although they are often called to these practices, as they can greatly enhance however you are currently engaging with others.

Whether or not you identify in this way, each of us is called in our own way to walk our unique walk of integrity—  a life of wholeness, purpose, and meaning. An aspect of being in integrity is the recognition that we each have our own hurt, pain, grief, anger and old traumas to tend and integrate along the human journey, regardless of your vocation or level of mastery.

We all need conscious containers of support and inspiration to continually deepen in the discovery of how to meet our own ongoing embrace of the human experience. As we become more and more comfortable in our own skin, we become a permission giving space to others. No amount of conventional schooling can replace your greatest ‘credentials’—  that which you have lived through and integrated.  Nothing can replace the compassionate insight of your own direct experience— for it is that which allows you to truly be with another from a neutral heart, rather than an agenda.
